What is the Applied Strategy Theory Course?

This course is designed to build on the knowledge and skills learned in Thrive Premier Courses 1 and 2 and Thrive Premier Training Tracks 1 and 2. The first two courses and training tracks increase joy, capacity and maturity, and teach recovery skills from the “Big 6” negative emotions. Course 3 teaches strategic solutions to the five levels of pain by reviewing the brain’s five-level pain processing pathway, how processing can become stuck, and how to intervene strategically when the brain is in a state of complex desynchronized emotions.

Who Is This Course For?

This course is for three primary audiences:
  • Professionals seeking continuing education units (CEUs): This course is a valuable resource for those in the mental and behavioral health fields, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, MFTs, and counselors. It is also for educators and other professionals looking to expand their knowledge and earn CEU credits.
  • Individuals interested in personal growth and development: Anyone who wants to better understand the brain science behind topics like joy, peace, emotional regulation, and maturity will find this course beneficial. It offers a solid theoretical foundation for personal growth and understanding the principles taught in THRIVE training.
  • Anyone preparing to attend Track 3 of Thrive Premier Training: This course is the required prep work for the in-person training and is designed for those who have completed the first two years of training and are ready to learn strategic solutions for complex relational issues.

Course Objectives

This course prepares participants with the basic theory needed to attend Thrive Premier Training Track 3, the in-person “lab” component designed to complement this theory education on Shared Identity. To learn more, visit https://thrivetoday.org/premier-training/.

Upon completion of this course, participants will better understand the following, regardless of whether or not they choose to complete the in-person training:

  • How to identify the different types of pain at each of the five levels of the brain processing pathway.
  • How to identify signs of attachment pain.
  • The causes of triggers, including implicit memories that amplify current negative emotions.
  • Strategic interventions when the brain is stuck in complex emotions (is desynchronized).

Note: The Thrive Premier Theory Course 3 makes references to the in-person Thrive training designed to complement this course. These references can be disregarded by anyone not planning to attend the in-person training.
